Starter Homes See It All

Starter homes see it all — they’re where memories begin, roots take hold, and communities grow stronger.

But across Minnesota, these homes are disappearing. Rising costs, outdated rules, and limited options have pushed the dream of homeownership further out of reach. For many young Minnesotans, the first home that once marked a milestone is now a milestone they fear they’ll never reach.

Lawmakers from both parties are working to fix that. Together, they’re advancing solutions to bring back starter homes and ensure the next generation has a chance to live the American dream.
